After Owls, runs every school day from 3:05 - 4:30 PM, serving students in Kindergarten through Grade 6.​ Led by talented coaches, charismatic actors, brilliant artists, dancers, and supportive teachers, these programmatic workshops foster friendships within a grade level, beyond the students’ homeroom classmates. Snack is provided daily, directly after school. ​

This daily program offers free-choice activities in a nurturing, creative and engaging environment. Everyday choices will include guided art activities, games, block-building and outdoor play. Funhouse helps to foster friendships within and outside of your child’s homeroom. 

Homework Club with Judy

Mondays

Grades 3-6

Students can jump start their homework in a comfortable, focused setting. Students may also enjoy independent reading time or other quiet academic practices. This program will provide students with the structure they need to complete their assignments alongside guidance from a teacher. Beyond the academic focus time, students will have opportunities for movement breaks in spaces outside of HW Club in order to unwind from their school day alongside this group of peers.

Comic Book Creations with Nicole

Junior Owlympians with Coach Luis

After Owls Olympians! Join Coach Luis for an after school field day with thrilling team activities, classic favorite relays and creative obstacle courses. Coordination, confidence-building and movement development are at the foundation of this non-stop fun program. Enjoy many indoor and outdoor sports, individual and team competitions, and hi-tech fun equipment. This exhilarating gameplay encourages valuable skills integrated through friendly and fascinating play.

Splat Jr with SplatLab

Splat Lab is a STEAM-inspired enrichment class that aims to support kids' creative and intellectual needs. Our classes are super playful! Each session starts with a Splat Welcome circle followed by 4 open activity stations such as making slime, monster puppets, ooze, and cup castles. In each workshop we rotate stations, so students get to try everything. We end with a closing Splat circle and give shine and shout-outs to our fellow Splat Kids.

Come on dowwwwn to the CinemaKidz Game Show – an exciting, interactive class, where kids learn to produce and star in their very own game show. This class is inspired by some of TV’s most classic shows, from trivia to physical challenges and obstacle courses. Participants will plan their show, build various obstacles and puzzles, design game boards and challenges, and compete in different games in each class. Challenges will take place outdoors as well as in the classroom. We focus on team building, creativity, and FUN! Kids will learn firsthand all about producing a live, action-packed show, then work to edit and complete several episodes!

Art Studio: Super Crafty with Nicole

In this fantastical hands-on arts and crafts class, students will make 2D and 3D projects using a variety of materials. We will use pencils, crayons, oil pastels, tempera paints, glue, construction paper, cardboard, feathers, craft sticks and watercolors (just to name a few)! Students will create collages, puppets, castles, games, masks, mandalas, paintings and other amazing original creations.

In this program, children will dive headfirst into the world of electric guitars, bass guitars, and drums, just like a true rock band. They'll not only gain a profound understanding of these instruments but also sharpen their musical skills to perfection. To top it all off, our budding rockstars will get to experience the thrill of performing in a live concert, where they'll steal the spotlight and rock the house, much to the delight of their devoted fans. So, are you ready to rock your world?

Come play with your food at the CinemaKidz cooking show. Kids design the look and feel of the show, make an apron for the series, and work in the test kitchen experimenting with various recipes to feature in each episode: from yummy favorites like vegetarian sushi to experimenting with molecular gastronomy. Participants will get to cook, act, direct, film, and edit several episodes in this hands on engaging class

Blading with Matt

Rollerblading is one of the safest sports around and a proven thorough workout. Children have the opportunity to join the blading craze by learning the moves from an inline pro! Basic skating instruction will include striding, turning, stopping, crossovers and much more. Group games ensue with exhilarating cheers echoing through the gym. (Individual skates, pads and helmets required.)

So you wanna be a rockstar? This is your chance to rock n’ roll and put on a show! In this program, children will play electric guitars, bass guitars and drums like a real-life rock band. Join fellow plant and outdoor lovers at Eco Explorers! We'll use the Greenhouse, Stuyvesant Park, and Science Lab to learn about our local ecosystems and see them change from their dormant winter states to late spring beauty and also plant our own projects. This ceramics and pottery program will truly be hands-on! The calming and nourishing experience of working with clay will show up in the cozy atmosphere of the studio and the beautiful creations made. What a relaxing and engaging way to end the school day. Students will have experience working with clay, glaze, carving and styling tools, firing and kiln use. We look forward to seeing what amazing ceramics you make (and of course, take home)!

LEGO Engineering Exploration with iCamp

Take your child’s knack for building to another level with iCAMP’s LEGO Engineering Exploration course. In this class, students will use classic LEGO pieces to solve hands-on engineering challenges, like building and stress-testing a bridge, constructing storm-proof towers, and more! Little Einsteins' Fun with Science with iCamp

Put on your lab coats and your safety glasses, iCAMP’s Little Einsteins’ Fun with Science course is a broad introduction to core scientific concepts for young learners. Throughout the course, students will learn more about the chemical reactions, molecules, atoms, and physics that define the world around them. Through experimentation and discovery, they will learn to relate these sometimes challenging concepts to their own real-life experiences. Experiments like self-inflating baking soda and vinegar balloons and mini volcanos will teach them that incredible scientific discoveries wait around every corner if they just know where to look.

Make a Musical: Under the Sea with Child's Play NY

Dive into drama, inspired by The Little Mermaid and the best aquatic-themed kid lit! Play a game of Sneaky Tag with the Sea Witch, find treasures from the deep, and enjoy showing off your skills at the underwater ball! Students spend the semester exploring beloved musicals through improvisation, dance and music. Led by professionally-trained actors, kids flex their imaginative muscles and learn the basics of vocal warm-ups, character development, singing and choreography. Students are inspired to make their own stories and sing classic songs for a “splashy” final showcase!
