After Owls runs every school day from 3:05 - 4:30 PM, serving students in Kindergarten through Grade 6. Led by talented coaches, charismatic actors, brilliant artists, dancers, and supportive Friends teachers, these engaging workshops foster friendships beyond the students’ homeroom classmates. A snack is provided daily, directly after school.

Makers and Movers is an all-in-one after-school experience that blends creativity, activity, and connection. Each session begins with a group check-in and a fun community-building activity, followed by student choice at hands-on stations featuring crafts, building challenges, art projects, and more. Throughout the week, students enjoy a variety of special enrichment experiences, including guest-led activities and exciting projects. With Coach Luis leading the group regularly, students can also look forward to active play and sport-inspired games that build teamwork, confidence, and coordination. Makers and Movers is the perfect place to create, explore, move, and make new friends after school.
Homework Club

Homework Club offers the perfect balance of focus and fun. Students can jump-start and complete homework assignments, enjoy independent reading, and build strong academic habits in a supportive environment with guidance from a teacher. Beyond the academic focus time, students will have the opportunity for a movement break outside of the Homework Club classroom to allow them to unwind from their school day alongside this group of peers.
Middle School Study Hall

This high-energy, fundamentals-focused class helps young athletes build skills, confidence, and teamwork while having a blast on the court. Space Animations with CinemaKidz

Join CinemaKidz as we plan, build, and film space and Star Wars-inspired stop-motion animations! With space as our theme, students will invent their very own aliens and characters that will star in the animated projects, and build them using a variety of materials led by a professional artist. They will learn how the pros rig up their sets, as they use a combination of built backgrounds and green screens to create the feel of outer space. Sets and characters will be built out of wood, wire, paper mâché, clay, and a variety of other materials to look like real Hollywood productions! Students will utilize professional software, to film and edit their animated tales. Students will learn how to combine live-action videos they film, as they build costumes and act in their own projects, then put it all together for one long-featured space project!
Jazz/Ballet Combo with Four Corners Creative

Explore two dance styles in one unique class with Four Corners Creative. Ballet is the foundation of many different dance styles and is a great form of dance for students to explore. In ballet, students will focus on posture, musicality, french vocabulary, coordination skills, and balance. The class will shift into some upbeat tunes so that students have the opportunity to learn jazz dance steps for the second half of the class. Students will learn about basic isolations, across the floor exercises, and dynamic movements. There will be a small presentation at the end of the trimester.
Hogwarts School with Child's Play NY

Join us as we use the “magic” of theater to explore this Wizarding World. Using the Harry Potter series as a springboard, we will generate original stories and rehearse scripted scenes from the films. Students will get to hone their writing and improv skills as they create plays based on their favorite iconic characters or imagine new ones in this magical world. In addition to the acting work, we’ll play games of Quidditch, create spell books, and compete for the House Cup. Jump on your Firebolt and let’s play! The class culminates in a showcase for families.
Cooking with Milena

Chef Milena returns to share the joy of cooking through hands-on culinary adventures! Each week, students will create a delicious recipe while learning essential kitchen skills such as chopping, sautéing, and baking. Four Corners Creative believes that bravery and strength are important skills to build so that children can find their own unique voice. This class will focus on cheer technique along with basic jumps and turns. For safety we will not be tumbling at this level. At the end of the trimester, the cheerleaders will present the dance routine and cheers they have been working on as a group.

Fashion is an important form of self-expression and creativity for children, even early on. This class will focus on learning about textiles, styles, patterns, basic design skills, and hand sewing. We will work on crafts together throughout the course and begin to develop our sense of style and confidence. We will present what we have been working on at the end of the semester with a "fashion show" for our parents and caregivers.

Rollerblading is one of the safest sports around and a proven thorough workout. Children can join the blading craze by learning the moves from an inline pro! Junior Chess Adventures with US Chess Academy

Join Friends Seminary’s Computer Science teacher, Judith, in creating a neighborhood out of cardboard and then bringing it to life through stop motion animation! In this hands-on class, students will work together to design and construct a miniature community filled with a backdrop, buildings, streets, and imaginative details including people, animals and even imaginary beings. Along the way, they will learn cardboard construction techniques, develop engineering skills, and practice creative problem-solving. Students will have opportunities to follow step-by-step instructions while also experimenting with their own designs and inventions. Once this all takes shape, students will create a simple stop-motion animation to tell stories set in the world they have built. This class combines art, engineering, technology, and storytelling within a collaborative project.

Students in Grades 5 and 6 are invited to create work independently and with intention through choice-based projects in which they have the opportunity to choose from a list of prompts or to use the list as inspiration for their own unique ideation. Students may work with whatever materials they wish/ have available to them, are encouraged to think creatively, and not limit themselves to traditional means of making art. Students can choose to work alone or collaboratively with their peers. Individual support in learning new materials and methods through their own lens will be given throughout their time in the studio by Morgan who will encourage students to find their own voice and confidence in the studio environment.

Robot Rookies is the perfect start for kids to explore STEAM in a playful and supportive environment! Designed especially for our young builders, Brooklyn Robot Foundry’s Robot Rookies classes introduce them to the world of robotics in a fun and confidence-boosting way! Each week, students build their own robot to take home, working as independently as possible with the guidance of our skilled instructors. Along the way, they’ll flex their creativity in decorating and designing while learning foundational STEAM concepts. Students will get to build a new robot every semester. We have over 600 projects in our curriculum - that means students can take our classes for 8 years straight without repeating a project! Brooklyn Robot Foundry has been offering creative STEAM programs for children and adults since 2011. Capoeira with Afro Brazil Arts

Kick, spin, cartwheel, and make music with Afro Brazil Arts as we practice Capoeira! Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art/dance form that combines fun movements with music. Coding in ScratchJr. with Launch

Calling all future coders! Using the ScratchJr tablet app, budding computer scientists build a foundation for computer programming in this coding class for kids. It all starts with the design of customized characters, the changing of backgrounds, and the testing of motion blocks as students get a grasp of the basics. Next these mini-coders explore more complex skills such as sequencing motion blocks and creating interactions between characters with the end goal of putting their own spin on an interactive story or game!
